This is basically just a journal setup for me and my friends to learn Japanese together.
I started taking Japanese classes on June 11, 2007. My friends also wanted to learn what I was learning, so I decided to create an account to share with all of them what I'm being taught.
Keep in mind I'm learning as well, so it's essentially the blind leading the blind here. But since we're both learning I'm sure if you have questions we can work with each other to find the answer! ^^
Posts written in this journal are what I get from handouts and what is written in various Japanese learning books I own. Not meant to plagiarize, I'm crediting the following books that I use:
Banno, Eric, Yutaka Ohno, Yoko Sakane, and Chikako Shinagawa. An Intergrated Course in Elementary Japanese: Genki 1. 1999. Tokyo: The Japan Times, Ltd., 2006.
- The Book's Website
Hadamitzky, Wolfgang, and Mark Spahn. Kanji & Kana. 1987. North Claredon: Tuttle Publishing, 2003.
- Buy it on Amazon
Jorden, Eleanor Harz, and Mari Noda. Japanese: The Written Language Part 1 Field Test Edition. 1994. Boston: Cheng & Tsui Company, 2004.
- Buy it on B&N.com
Jorden, Eleanor Harz, and Mari Noda. Japanese: The Spoken Language Part 1. Westford:Murray Printing Co., 1987.
- Buy it on Amazon
Association for Japanese-Language Teaching. Japanese For Busy People. 1984. Tokyo: Kodansha International Ltd., 1994.
- But it on Amazon
The books "Genki" and "Japanese for Busy People" both have workbooks, that I own as well, available as companions to the textbooks.
